LIVE

We know it, you might know it and if you don’t know it, you will: There’s a lot that makes Great Falls great. The winding river that runs through town, the outstanding education system, the beautiful big sky. Delicious farm-to-table restaurants. Extensive opportunity for outdoor adventure. The people.

And that’s only the beginning.

So, why live in Great Falls?

The difference of Great Falls, Montana is that living here, you can really enjoy these things. There’s a balance of work and life that doesn’t exist everywhere else. You can breathe. You can leave your work at the office and soak in sunshine instead of fluorescent lights. No Sales Tax means more money for fun times. Affordability means your energy is spent on climbing mountains instead of piles of bills. You can know your children’s teachers personally, and sometimes you’ll even become friends with them when you inevitably bump into them at any number of community events.

Also, mermaids. Did we mention the mermaids?

Medical/Health

For many, knowing the healthcare options in the city they’re considering moving to is extremely important. What happens if you come down with a cold? Need emergency surgery? When it comes to healthcare, Great Falls has you covered.

Clinics are located throughout the city for convenience, and there are even Family Health Clinics located in a growing number of public schools. Our hospital system is one of the best in the Midwest. High-quality, affordable care for all people is a priority here. Explore some of your options below.

Serving over 38,000 square miles, Benefis Health System includes the Benefis Sletten Cancer Institute, Heart and Vascular Institute, Orthopedic Center of Montana, emergency medicine, and more.

A Women’s and Children’s Center is being built offering women access to OB/GYN care, women’s wellness, fertility care, maternal-fetal medicine, childbirth education, lactation support, and screening mammography. Children and teens will be served through occupational, speech, and physical therapy, psychiatry, neuropsychology, endocrinology, and general outpatient pediatrics.

The Great Falls Clinic is the fourth oldest medical clinic west of the Mississippi. The Clinic strives to assess and meet the needs of the 250,000 residents living in the seventeen north central Montana counties that they serve.

Through physician leadership, the Great Falls Clinic is dedicated to improving the health of the people they serve. Their healthcare team is committed to providing high quality care, comprehensive coordinated services, convenient timely access, and exceptional service with compassion.

As a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, Alluvion Health focuses on providing high quality, cost-effective, comprehensive primary and preventive medical, dental and behavioral health care.

Alluvion Health is focused on whole-person, whole-life care. In an effort to better serve the health needs of our community, Alluvion Health has brought School-Based Health Centers to Great Falls Public Schools.

The City-County Health Department is dedicated to the health of the Great Falls community. The Department services extend from environmental health inspections for restaurants to immunizations to maternal and family health and assistance.

Getting Around

Getting around in Great Falls is no-stress. Montana has some of the best roads in America, and they can be seen in Great Falls. “Heavy traffic” means maybe sitting at a stoplight for more than 2 minutes. Public buses connect the city… and the fare? $1 per ride, and less for students.

That being said, you’re probably going to want a car. Although largely walker- and biker-friendly, Great Falls hosts winter conditions for up to 8 months a year. So your road bike might not fare well on 8″ of snow. Your call though.

Oh yeah, and you can hit that snooze button, because almost 80% of employed Great Fallsians travel less than 15 minutes to work (and most commutes are significantly less than that).

We have Uber, Lyft and a taxi and limo (if you’re fancy) service, BlackedOut 406.

The Great Falls International Airport flies direct to Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and Chicago, making just about any major airport in the world one layover away! The best part? Even from the furthest location within city limits, it’s still only a 20 minute drive to the airport. Ease of access: just another PLUS of living in Great Falls.
