Visit Great Falls
February is the month of love. What are some of the things we love about Great Falls? We’re so glad you asked! We love our revitalized downtown with wonderful shops and restaurants. We love our 53 miles of River’s Edge Trail. We love our 12 museums and our 43 murals. We love our three rivers and access to multiple mountain ranges.
February marks Black History Month. It’s a time dedicated to “paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society,” according to blackhistorymonth.gov. Here in Great Falls, The History Museum is a great place to learn more with its permanent exhibit about The Ozark Club. “For nearly three decades, the Ozark Club helped to break down racial barriers and provided an exhilarating form of music that could lift the human spirit and put a joyful smile on the listener’s face,” said local historian Ken Robison. Episode 162 of our podcast We’re No Dam Experts will take a deep dive into The Ozark Club. Look for it wherever you listen to podcasts or on our YouTube channel. The Ozark Club is currently undergoing renovations.
Speaking of The History Museum, you can join executive director Kristi Scott for a free tour through collections and archives storage (they’ve got some really neat stuff) for their Second Saturday event on February 10th. The renowned C.M. Russell Museum is offering free admission the second Saturday of the month this winter, including on February 10th. And speaking of free admission, you can get into the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center for free through the month of February!
Oh and did you know National Pizza Day is on February 9th? We have some great places to bite into a delicious slice, such as Fire Pizza, Mighty Mo Brewing, MacKenzie River Pizza, and many more!
