You’re in town for the day because of an interview opportunity — you have a few hours and some change to get to know Great Falls, Montana and really picture your life here… where you’ll say “cheers” to happy hour with coworkers, which neighborhood you’ll call home, the farmers’ market where you’ll get a taste of homegrown produce.
While many of Great Falls’ attractions (and the entire region’s, for that matter) draw visitors from all over the world, it’s the day-to-day lifestyle you’ll want to experience before making the move. That’s where we come in.
Below are a few of the must-do stops to immerse yourself and get a taste of what it means to live like a Great Falls local– even if just for a day.
Half Day
The Essentials: Your 4-Hour Guide to Great Falls, MT
After pulling into town, head downtown for an energizing coffee and pastry at Crooked Tree or Electric City Coffee in downtown Great Falls
Stroll along downtown’s Central Avenue, taking 3rd St. N. northbound so you can check out the Great Falls Public Library and quaint Library Park on the way to Gibson Park. (Not to mention so many of the gorgeous historic homes in the area.) If you have time, do a quick loop around Gibson to stretch your legs. If you have kiddos in tow, they can play on equipment or visit the ducks at Gibson Park Duck Pond.
Hop in your car and take a drive up Central Avenue taking a left at 32nd Street, where you will come across Giant Springs Elementary School, one of many of our great public schools. Holy Spirit Catholic School and Foothill Christian are both nearby as well if those options suit your fancy.
One of the biggest pulls to Great Falls is the ease of a work-life balance; and ease of transportation is part of that. Experience that ease of access and drive around a few neighborhoods to get a taste of what your life could be.
Your options abound for dinnertime. If you’re into sports bars with high-def TVs and great food, check out P. Gibsons or The Sting. If you’re after a more relaxed evening environment, indulge at MacKenzie River Pizza, Enbar, or Fifth & Wine, among many others.
After dinner, head to Celtic Cowboy, Mighty Mo Brew Pub or Elevation 3330 for a night cap (and enjoy the live entertainment depending on the night).

Full Day
The Essentials: Your One Day Guide to Great Falls, MT
If you’re visiting on a summertime weekend, start your Saturday at the Great Falls Farmers’ Market, enjoying tastes of freshly ground coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls. Chat with the local artisans and produce farmers about the area and how they like it. If the Market isn’t open during your stay, head directly to brunch at one of our lovely brunch spots, such as Tracy’s Family Diner, the Mermaid Brunch at the famous Sip n Dip, or Celtic Cowboy.
After brunch, shop downtown like a local at one of the many great shops – there really is something for everyone.
Downtown you’ll also find Great Falls Public Library and quaint Library Park. (Not to mention so many of the gorgeous historic homes in the area.) Hop in your car (or Uber/Lyft!) and take a drive up Central Avenue taking a left at 32nd Street, where you will come across Giant Springs Elementary School, one of many of our great public schools. Take a short hike at Giant Springs State Park, taking in the views and enjoying the fresh Montana air. The 58-mile River’s Edge Trail runs through the park as well. (No worries about a long drive to outdoor recreation, we have it right in town!)
Stop for a quick mid-afternoon snack at one of our awesome food trucks, such a Nourish or Carnivorium 406. Casually explore some of our neighborhoods, we think you’ll find whatever you’re looking for, whether that’s a chic downtown apartment or a family home with a large yard on the outskirts of town.
Head back to the Airbnb, shower, and ready for evening, where you’ll undoubtedly enjoy boundless dinner options. If you’re into sports bars with high-def TVs and great food, check out P.
