Fiber Expansion Connects More Cascade County Homes and Businesses

More homes and businesses in Cascade County can now connect to reliable high-speed internet following a major rural broadband expansion.

Spectrum announced that its fiber network is now available to more than 1,200 additional homes and small businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of the county, including Ulm and Vaughn. The new service offers internet speeds of up to one gigabit.

Reliable broadband is increasingly important to where people choose to live and work. It can make it easier to work remotely, operate a rural small business, pursue online education, access digital services, and stay connected with customers and family members. For employers, stronger regional connectivity can also expand the places where current and prospective employees can comfortably live.

The project was funded in part through a Montana Broadband Office ConnectMT grant. Spectrum and local leaders marked the expansion with a September 23 ribbon-cutting at Ag Processing Solutions in Great Falls, where the company emphasized the importance of dependable internet for serving customers across the country and around the world.

The expansion strengthens Cascade County’s infrastructure while extending the benefits of modern connectivity beyond the Great Falls city limits. For workers and entrepreneurs considering the region, that means more choices about where to build a career, a business, and a home.
