Downtown Great Falls is about to become even more colorful. Great Walls Great Falls, formerly known as ArtsFest Montana, returns August 17–22 with seven artists creating new murals throughout downtown.
Great Falls artist Samantha Houston will join six visiting artists for this year’s festival. Their work will build on a downtown collection that already includes 68 murals, transforming walls and alleyways into destinations for residents, visitors, school groups, and walking tours.
The festival is more than a week of painting. It reflects the creative energy and community participation that make Great Falls an appealing place to call home. Local businesses, property owners, restaurants, artists, and event organizers all contribute to bringing the murals to life. For workers and families considering a move, that kind of collaboration offers a practical glimpse of a community where creativity is visible and downtown continues to evolve.
Public activities include an artist reception on Thursday, August 20, with live music, food, drinks, and opportunities to meet the muralists. A downtown art walk follows Friday, August 21, with participating businesses staying open late and hosting artists.
